Dallas County, TX — June 2, 2024, Isabel Cardenas was injured in a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 7:30 p.m. along the Dallas North Tollway.
According to authorities, 45-year-old Isabel Cardenas was traveling in a southbound Honda Civic in the vicinity north of the Westgrove Drive overpass when the accident took place.

The road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly wet. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the right from the left-most lane, crossed over one lane and entered the lane in which the Civic was traveling. There, a collision took place between the back-left side of the Civic and the front-end of the Jeep. The impact caused the Civic to spin out, crashing into a concrete barrier before coming to a stop. The Jeep allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.
Cardenas suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point. The investigation is currently ongoing.
