Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With two drivers reportedly being charged here, people might think this all is open-and-shut. Maybe it is. Two drivers speeding down the road certainly raises red flags they may have been racing each other, and that obviously warrants consequences. At the end of the day, though, it’s important authorities consider other possible contributing factors. It’s possible something like drugs or alcohol may have played a role in this deadly accident, and that might require further legal action. It’s not enough to simply have a couple of “bad guys” to blame. The victims and families affected deserve to know there will be full accountability for what happened here.
