Longview, TX — May 28, 2025, a pedestrian was fatally injured due to a car accident at around 10:36 p.m. along Pine Tree Road.
Authorities said that the accident took place off the corner of the Pine Tree Road and Pirate Street.
According to officials, a pedestrian, unidentified at this time, was in the area of Pine Tree Road. That person reportedly attempted to cross the roadway. While doing so, a pickup apparently struck the pedestrian. The victim was taken from the scene and later succumbed to their injuries.

Pedestrian accidents can be a lot more complex than people realize. It’s not always just about who had the right-of-way, though that is important. There should also be consideration for things like lighting issues, poor signage, lack of road markings, alcohol, distraction, some sort of emergency, etc. At the end of the day, someone lost their life. Their loved ones deserve to know they’re getting the full story.
