Lubbock County, TX — February 9, 2024, two people were injured in a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 8:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 84.

According to authorities, a white vehicle towing a homemade trailer was traveling northwest on Highway 84 at the Farm to Market 1585 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the vehicle attempted a left turn onto westbound Farm to Market 1585 at an unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to southeast bound highway traffic. This resulted in a collision with a Buick Encore occupied by 30-year-old Tiffany Fox and 31-year-old Sean Fox. The trailer allegedly became detached from the white vehicle during the course of the accident. The white vehicle reportedly fled the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victims. It was later discovered that the towed unit abandoned by the hit-and-run vehicle had been a stolen trailer.

Both occupants of the Encore incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident and were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
