UPDATE (January 5, 2024): The identity of the victim in this accident has been confirmed to be 57-year-old Henry Robinson Jr., of Houston, Texas.
Houston, TX — December 24, 2023, one person was killed in a single-car accident at approximately 6:30 in the morning along Wheatley Street.
According to authorities, a 57-year-old man was traveling in a northbound Toyota Avalon on Wheatley Street approaching the Dewalt Street intersection when the accident took place.

The Toyota was traveling at allegedly high speeds prior to the incident. The vehicle reportedly failed to safely maintain its lane of travel, veering off of the roadway where it collided with several trees, a utility pole, and a flatbed trailer which had been parked in that vicinity. The collisions caused the Toyota to overturn, after which it rolled an unknown number of times before coming to a stop. The incident caused the vehicle to go up in flames. The 57-year-old was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
