Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With any motorcycle accident, my concern is whether or not authorities are being fair to the motorcyclist. Right now, details about this crash seem pretty straight-forward. But a lot of people are more willing to believe motorcyclists are reckless when there isn’t a mountain of clear evidence to set the records straight. Insurance companies know this, and they’re counting on victims and families taking for granted that authorities are going to tell their side of the story so they can take advantage of people’s biases and muddy the waters. That’s why it’s important people are always aware of how their or their loved one’s accident is being investigated. If authorities aren’t being thorough enough, there need to be measures in place to pick up the slack.
