San Antonio, TX — October 24, 2024, Gerardo Mendoza was killed following a single-car accident at approximately 10:00 p.m. along Interstate Highway 410.
According to authorities, 44-year-old Gerardo Gabriel Mendoza was traveling in a southbound Nissan Altima on Loop 410 in the vicinity of the exit for Culebra Road when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, as the Altima was attempting to take the Culebra Road exit, it failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered out of the roadway and struck a guardrail. That led to the vehicle losing control and crashing into the walls of the exit.
