Granbury, TX — August 19, 2024, Gary Irby was injured as the result of a car accident at around 10:12 p.m. along U.S. Highway 377.
Initial details about the accident say that the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 377 and Fall Creek Highway.
According to officials, 61-year-old Gary Irby was on a Suzuki motorcycle going eastbound along the highway. The motorcycle was stopped at the red light when it appears a Honda Element crashed into the back of the motorcycle. As a result, Irby was seriously injured. The other driver was recommended for citations.

Folks may not think there would really be anything to discuss. But after any motorcycle accident, it’s important there’s as much evidence to say what happened as possible, no matter how open-and-shut things seem. The simple reason for that is people tend to be biased against motorcyclists, and insurance companies look for any foothold they can to try to shift the blame so they can duck responsibility. If they know some folks will believe bogus claims with little evidence, it provides a tempting target for them. Having clear evidence, though, helps to prevent those blame-shifting attempts from finding root. That’s why it’s important to know whether or not investigations are being thorough enough to leave no stone unturned.
