Irving, TX — June 1, 2023, Gary Bowens was killed as the result of a rollover accident at approximately 4:24 a.m. along the Bush Turnpike.
According to preliminary details provided by officials, the incident happened in the area of President George Bush Turnpike mile marker 980.
Authorities said that 56-year-old Gary Bowens was the driver of a Hino truck that was going southwest along the turnpike. At the Belt Line Road exit ramp, it appears the truck left its lane and crashed into the guardrail and a sign. The truck then overturned off the side of the exit ramp.
As a result of the accident, Bowens sustained injuries which ultimately proved fatal. It appears no one else was involved in the fatal accident. Additional details regarding a possible cause for the crash remain unconfirmed.
