Charlotte, NC — August 27, 2024, four people were injured following a multi-vehicle garbage truck accident at approximately 9:15 p.m. along I.H. 85.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate Highway 85 in the vicinity of the Beatties Ford Road exit.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision occurred involving several separate vehicles, one of which was reportedly a garbage truck. One of the four people who was hurt as a result of the wreck was transported to a local medical facility by EMS for critical, life-threatening injuries. The other three—also transported for treatment—suffered severe injuries, as well, though they were apparently not considered life-threatening, according to reports.
