Harker Heights, TX — March 21, 2023, Gabriel Torres was killed in a single-vehicle accident around 10:36 p.m. on F.M. 2410 in Harker Heights.
According to officials, Gabriel Torres’s eastbound Chevy Silverado was navigating a curve when the vehicle left the road to the passenger’s side into the roadside ditch. The Silverado then reportedly continued through the ditch for several feet, struck some trees, drove up and over a concrete culvert, and overturned onto Rummel Rd. The Silverado then reportedly slid across Rummel Rd. and rolled into the culvert on the opposite side, rolled back to right-side up, and came to a rest against a telephone pole.
Officials released that the roof of the vehicle buckled and the driver’s side C-pillar dented during the accident. Additionally, reports say the sky was cloudy and the road was unlit.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at a hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. There are no further updates at this time.
