Houston, TX — February 3, 2023, Freo Lampkin Jr. was killed following an accident where Lampkin fell off a freeway ramp after a car crash.
Authorities reported that the incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. along the North Sam Houston Tollway in the area of Mesa Drive.
According to initial details, 67-year-old Freo Lampkin Jr. was in a Nissan Sentra that somehow crashed along a transfer ramp at the Sam Houston and Highway 59 interchange. What followed next is not wholly clear in early reports, but authorities note that Lampkin somehow “fell from atop the overpass” to the ground below. It is unclear whether Lampkin exited the car purposely or was ejected.
Due to the fall, Lampkin sustained fatal injuries. No further information is available at this time.

Since there hasn’t been much further information about this incident, I just hope that’s not a sign authorities aren’t giving this accident the attention it deserves. It could simply be that the unusual circumstances and a potential lack of witnesses makes it difficult to get clear answers. But if it’s simply that authorities don’t see this as a high priority, it wouldn’t be fair to the man’s loved ones who, if nothing else, deserve some answers.
