Fredericksburg, VA — January 9, 2025, Frank Tandoh and Ashton Faircloth were injured in a truck accident at about 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 95.
Authorities said a 1997 Lexus ES300 lost control while changing lanes to pass a slower moving vehicle and crashed into a Kenworth semi-truck. The impact forced the truck off the road, reportedly spilling 44,000 pounds of cardboard along the highway.
Truck driver Frank K. Tandoh, 43, suffered life-threatening injuries after his truck hit several trees. according to authorities. He was flown to an area hospital for treatment.
Lexus driver Ashton M. Faircloth, 18, was injured as well, but authorities described his injuries as non-life-threatening. He was transported to an area hospital after the Spotsylvania County crash. He reportedly has been charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control.
The accident is still being investigated.
