McAllen, TX — February 26, 2023, Francisco Silva was injured due to an accident where a vehicle crashed along the side of the road.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around 5:00 p.m. along Redwood Avenue off the corner of North 7th Street.
Authorities said that 25-year-old Francisco Silva was in a Chevy Equinox traveling westbound along Redwood Avenue. For reasons not currently confirmed, the vehicle ran off the side of the road where it crashed into a tree.
Silva sustained injuries described as incapacitating. No others were reported by officials. No further information about the crash can be confirmed at this time.

Single-vehicle wrecks come up a lot when I talk to people because there isn’t actually a lot of clarity on how they work. There are all kinds of complex possible factors a proper investigation will cover, such as things like mechanical issues, road hazards, medical conditions, tire defects, etc. That’s not to say they ignore more common factors, of course. Cell phone usage, speeding, and fatigue are obviously worth consideration, as well. At the end of the day, it’s about letting the evidence speak for itself so that nothing important goes overlooked.
