Accident Report
Dallas, TX — June 18, 2026, four people were injured in a car accident at about 7 p.m. in the 300 block of West Davis Street.
Authorities said a pickup crashed into the sidewalk patio of a taco stand, sending patrons scrambling before it hit a concrete bench.
Four people were hospitalized with unspecified injuries after the Bishop Arts District crash, according to authorities.
The pickup driver told police he hit the gas pedal too hard while backing out of a nearby parking lot, authorities said. He is not expected to face any charges related to the crash.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Dallas County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
When a driver loses control during normal operation of a vehicle, as purportedly happened here, that makes me wonder if the pickup was in good working condition before the crash.
The injured patrons and their family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this crash, even if that means seeking a qualified expert to examine the pickup.
Most police departments don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience, but this crash shouldn’t be written off as a simple accident if it could have been prevented by some routine maintenance.
