Floyd Roberson Killed in UTV Accident in Atascosa County, TX

It appears that 38-year-old Floyd Roberson and a 13-year-old boy were in a Can-Am Defender side-by-side at the time. The vehicle was apparently going westbound on County 108 and made a left turn onto Lucas Road. While doing so, though, the vehicle skidded and overturned. Roberson was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. The teenager wasn’t hurt.

Right now, the cause of the crash can’t be confirmed.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

My concern with these kinds of vehicles is whether or not authorities are giving them proper attention. Some departments are shaky enough as it is when looking into car accidents. An atypical vehicle like a UTV may be pretty far outside the scope of what they usually handle, so complex but vital possible factors, like defects, for example, could easily slip through the cracks. Hopefully this crash was attended to by well-equipped and experienced accident reconstructionists who can at least ensure the victim’s loved ones know they’re getting the whole story.
