Ethan Hensley Car Accident in Northlake, TX

According to officials, 27-year-old Ethan Hensley was in a Nissan Rogue going southbound along I-35W, though details suggest the Nissan may have been on the wrong side of the road. It then lost control and ran off-road, causing it to careen down the median onto Highway 114 below. As a result, Hensley sustained serious injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

While some of the details here are concerning, it’s important to always consider there can be extenuating circumstances leading to an accident. Vehicles being on the wrong side of the road is no exception. For example, here in Dallas we had a toll road which was seeing an unusually high number of wrong way driving incidents. Research eventually revealed that the warning signs on the off-ramps were too high for drivers to see. Sure enough, when the signs were lowered, the number of wrong way drivers went down. Maybe nothing like that happened here, but I don’t see any reason right now why this crash wouldn’t warrant thorough investigations into what exactly what went wrong.
