Amarillo, TX — June 3, 2023, Esgar Leyva was injured in a commercial truck accident around 2:09 a.m. while eastbound on I-40 in Amarillo.

Sources report the victim was a front-seat passenger in a Ford Edge that was merging onto I-40 E. near South Highland St. when an eastbound commercial truck and trailer allegedly merged from the middle lane into the outer lane and collided with the Ford Edge.

The Edge was purportedly forced off the highway in a rollover crash and the commercial truck fled the scene.

Mr. Leyva reportedly suffered serious injuries, while the driver of the Edge was purportedly uninjured.
