Ellis County, TX — March 28, 2024, Erin Lightsey as injured in a car accident shortly before 7:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 77.
According to authorities, 43-year-old Erin Lightsey was traveling in a southwest bound Acura on U.S. Highway 77 just south of the Grove Street intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, an eastbound Ram pickup truck which had exited a private drive and turned right onto the highway before allegedly attempting a U-turn in order to head north on the highway at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the back-left side of the pickup truck and the front-end of the Acura.
Lightsey incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. She was transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
