Rains County, TX — November 25, 2023, an Enloe woman was injured as the result of a car accident at around midnight along F.M. 47.
Authorities said they responded to the area of the F.M. 47 and County Road 1470 intersection at approximately 12:36 a.m.

According to their statements, a 28-year-old Enloe woman was in a Nissan Rogue said to be going southbound on F.M. 47. A witness apparently told authorities that the Nissan drifted left before then turning right and going off-road. There, the Nissan crashed through a fence and into a billboard. The Enloe woman had incapacitating injuries due to the crash.

Authorities say they were told by the Enloe woman that she lost control trying to avoid something in the road, but they also say she told them she drank at least one beer prior to the crash. However, nothing has been confirmed right now. I’m wondering if authorities were ever able to follow up on all of this or if they aren’t really giving the crash the attention it deserves.
Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if alcohol was a factor here. I’ve litigated hundreds of personal injury cases against bars and other alcohol providers, and a lot of those involved people who were over-served before getting into a single vehicle accident. However, I’ve also seen a lot of situations where authorities speculate that drunk driving was a factor in a crash, but the victim was rushed to a hospital, and they never finished their investigations.
So what happened here?
