Wise County, TX — May 6, 2023, Elizabeth McWhorter was killed and Jason Lindhorst and Victor Figueroa were injured in a car accident at 9:32 pm on U.S. 81.
Preliminary information in local news outlets was said to be from initial Texas Department of Public Safety investigations. According to those details, the crash occurred in an area south of the County Road 4421 intersection.
Police officials stated that 55-year-old Jason Lindhorst and 81-year-old Elizabeth McWhorter were in a Dodge 2500 traveling along southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 81. In oncoming lanes, 25-year-old Victor Figueroa was said to be in a northbound Dodge 1500. It appears that Figueroa’s vehicle lost control, and it entered oncoming lanes. There, that vehicle collided head-on with the Dodge 2500.
As a result of the collision, McWhorter succumbed to fatal injuries. Lindhorst was said to have critical injuries. Figueroa had injuries described in reports as stable. Right now, there isn’t enough clear information to confirm the exact cause of the crash. Additional details about the accident are pending further investigations.
