As usual, preliminary reports skimp on crucial details. Did police find any reason for the disparity in injuries? Generally speaking, people in similar vehicles getting into a crash will have somewhat comparable injuries. One person being seriously injured while another is unharmed can be a sign of something unusual like a defect. Have authorities looked into that at all? If not, those involved here may not be getting the whole story they deserve.
