As straight forward as these details seem, something stands out to me. Generally speaking, a crash like this is going to result in both drivers sustaining at least similar injuries. The fact one person was seriously hurt while the other wasn’t raises a red flag. Was there something different about the victim’s car that would explain the difference in the injuries here? Have authorities examined the vehicle’s airbags and seatbelts to make sure they worked properly? Is the victim’s vehicle not up to standards when it comes to dampening a front-end collision? Likely or not, defects happen, and they should be considered whenever possible. But if authorities just treated this like any run-of-the-mill crash, they may be overlooking important details the victim needs to know about.
