When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, authorities aren’t always as on the ball as folks would expect. They don’t often see single-vehicle wrecks as a high priority, so details can easily slip through the cracks if authorities are rushing on to other responsibilities.
For example, I handled a case not long ago where authorities missed that a victim’s seatbelt was defective. It only came to light because authorities assumed the victim hadn’t been wearing one, and the family found that to be unusual. They asked us to look into things, and it took independent accident reconstructionists to examine the vehicle and bring the issue to light.
I’m not saying something like that happened here, but was it even anything authorities worked to rule out? If not, that could be a sign their investigations only scratched the surface.
