How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities have not detailed how these vehicles collided at this time. Did they collide head-on? Did one rear-end the other? Did one sideswipe the other? Was one driver distracted? Did a mechanical issue contribute to this crash? These are the kind of questions that authorities must consider as they investigate this crash.

Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage should help piece together what happened, while cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

A forensic examination of the vehicles will be needed if authorities suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash. It should be done by a qualified expert, since most law enforcement agencies do not have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.

A thorough investigation should answer any lingering questions that the families grieving this crash have about the accident.
