Jefferson County, TX — April 21, 2024, Bobby Frank was killed and Earnestine Frank was injured in a hit-and-run car accident shortly before 9:00 p.m. along I.H. 10.
According to authorities, 84-year-old Bobby Frank and 87-year-old Earnestine Frank were traveling in a northbound Buick Regal in the center lane of Interstate Highway 10 in the vicinity northeast of Walden Road when the accident took place.

In that area, the center lane and the inside lane merge into a single lane. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound vehicle of unknown make and model which had been traveling in the inside lane failed to safely merge into the center lane. It reportedly collided with the left side of the Buick. The collision caused the Buick to lose control, veering to the right where it crashed into the concrete median before veering back to the left and also crashing into the left concrete median. The other vehicle reportedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victims.
Both Earnestine and Bobby Frank suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Bobby Frank, however, was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of his injuries, having later been declared deceased.
