Amarillo, TX — August 2, 2023, six people sustained injuries due to a dump truck accident at around 11:45 a.m. along Interstate 40.
Investigators said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred along the service road in the area of the Hope Road intersection.
According to officials, an SUV was traveling along the service road at the time. At the Hope Road intersection, the SUV and a dump truck on Hope crossed paths, resulting in a collision. As a result of the crash, six people from the SUV had injuries. Two people reportedly had life-threatening injuries while the remaining four were said to have non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no reported injuries from the dump truck. At this time, additional details can’t be confirmed pending further investigations.
