Moore County, TX — July 10, 2024, a Dumas man sustained injuries due to a semi-truck accident at around 10:19 a.m. along F.M. 281.
Investigators said that the incident took place in the area of Fisher Road between Sunray and Cactus.
According to officials, a 42-year-old Dumas man was in a Mack truck going westbound along F.M. 281. Somehow, the truck ended up going off-road. There, the truck overturned. As a result, the Dumas man sustained serious injuries.
There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Right now, no further information is available.

People tend to write off single-vehicle wrecks quickly, but crashes involving commercial trucks may present unique challenges. Investigations need to include things like a driver’s experience, the training they have, whether cargo shifted, if their employer is maintaining their vehicle, if they’re forced to work unreasonable hours, if the vehicle experienced some sort of defect, and other such details on top of all of the regular stuff that goes into a proper accident reconstruction. If authorities don’t have the time or tools to do that on their own, then it’s important the crash makes its way into the hands of more equipped professionals who can ensure nothing unusual slips through the cracks.
