Creola, AL — September 5, 2024, two people were injured following a two-truck accident at approximately 2:15 a.m. along I.H. 65.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate Highway 65 on the General WK Wilson Jr. Bridge, also known as the Dolly Parton Bridge.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between two 18-wheelers—a Volvo and a Mack. The driver of each of the truck reportedly suffered injuries of unknown severity; they were both transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time.
