Austin, TX — November 24, 2023, a Dripping Springs man was injured after an alleged drunk driver accident at around 4:43 a.m. along MoPac Expressway.
Preliminary details about the accident say that it happened along the northbound MoPac service road near the intersection with William Cannon Drive.
According to officials, a 69-year-old Dripping Springs man was in a Volvo XC90 going along the service road approaching William Cannon. Another driver in a BMW apparently drove the wrong direction down the service road, crashing head on into the Volvo.
Due to the collision, the Dripping Springs man was taken from the scene with serious injuries. The BMW driver apparently had no injuries. Authorities allege that the BMW driver was over twice the legal limit for drunk driving. There were recommendations for an intoxication assault charge, though further information can’t be confirmed.
