Wharton County, TX — March 8, 2024, Donna Harrison and one other person were killed and a third victim was injured in a car accident just before 8:30 a.m. along S.H. 60.
According to authorities, 71-year-old Donna Harrison and a 63-year-old man were traveling in a northbound GMC Denali SUV on U.S. 60 in the vicinity north of Phillip Street when the accident took place.
The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy and wet. This was likely the cause of a southbound Toyota Tundra occupied by a 29-year-old man going into a side skid and entering the northbound lane of the highway. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the front-end of the SUV and the passenger side of the pickup truck.
Both Harrison and the sole occupant of the pickup truck incurred fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. The man who had been behind the wheel of the Denali suffered apparently moderate injuries, as well. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
