UPDATE (March 28, 2024): Reports have recently been released which clarify what happened leading up to and during this accident. First and foremost, the man who lost his life as a result of the accident has been identified as 59-year-old Donan Justice. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time have been reported to have been rainy and wet. Justice was apparently crossing State Highway 351 from north to south in a wheelchair in the vicinity southwest of the Enterprise Drive intersection. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northeast bound Kia Soul traveling on the highway struck Justice; he was knocked from his wheelchair and to the ground in the right-most northeast bound lane. Following that, a Chevy Silverado also struck both Justice and the wheelchair. Justice was reportedly struck by a third vehicle, as well. All three suspect vehicles reportedly fled the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.

Taylor County, TX — February 29, 2024, a wheelchair-bound man was killed in a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 5:50 a.m. along S.H. 351.

According to authorities, the accident occurred on State Highway 351 in the vicinity east of East Overland Trail.

The causal factors that led to the incident are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a man in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle. The person(s) in the vehicle allegedly fled the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.

The man incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was declared deceased at the scene upon arrival of emergency personnel. An arrest has apparently been made in connection with this accident.
