Austin, TX — June 10, 2023, Dilcia Castillo, Kimberly Arias, and one other were injured following a car accident at 4:43 a.m. along I-35.
Authorities indicated that the three vehicle car accident occurred along the service road at the intersection of East Cesar Chavez Street.

Details from officials show that 33-year-old Dilcia Castillo and an unidentified 33-year-old woman were in a Toyota Corolla that was going eastbound along Cesar Chavez. 23-year-old Kimberly Arias was said to be a passenger in a Ford Fusion which was going northbound on the service road. The driver of the Ford was not publicly identified.
According to investigators, the Ford went through a red light, causing it to crash into the side of Castillo’s vehicle. Castillo’s vehicle then collided with a Honda Accord going westbound on Cesar Chavez.
As a result of the collision, both Castillo and Arias were said to have injuries believed to be non-incapacitating. The passenger in Castillo’s vehicle reportedly had incapacitating injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Police allege that alcohol may have played a role in the crash, but these details cannot be confirmed without further evidence.
