Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After any fatal work accident, it’s important to make sure the details are being thoroughly investigated. People tend to just assume OSHA takes care of all that. At the end of the day, though, OSHA has their own priorities to worry about. Those don’t necessarily align with the needs of a worker’s loved ones. Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the whole country, so families need as much evidence as possible working to tell their story. OSHA’s efforts may be important, but they’re often just one piece of the puzzle for getting a family a fair resolution.
