Richardson, TX — July 21, 2024, Devan Zachariah was injured as the result of a car accident at around 3:45 a.m. along Melrose Drive.
According to investigators, the accident took place in the area of the Melrose Drive and Wisteria Way intersection.
Investigators said that 21-year-old Devan Zachariah was in a Hyundai Sonata going westbound on Melrose. For reasons unclear, the vehicle crashed into two parked vehicles on the right side of the road. Zachariah sustained serious injuries due to the crash. No one else appeared to have been involved.
Right now, no further information about the crash can be confirmed.

Folks may not think a crash like this would be challenging to investigate, and maybe circumstances are such that authorities have things handled. But it can be surprising to people when authorities miss incredibly crucial details because they simply weren’t looking for them.
For example, I had a case not long ago where a family was skeptical of the official reports. They claimed the victim hadn’t been wearing their seatbelt, which seemed very unlike them. We had more thorough investigations conducted, and it turned out the victim had a defective seatbelt. Authorities just plain missed that and jumped to conclusions. I’m not saying anything so unusual happened here, but it’s always important to consider that there may be more to the situation than even police know.
