The Colony, TX — August 10, 2025, Desiree Perkins was killed as the result of a car accident at around 5:30 a.m. along North Colony Boulevard.
According to preliminary details about the accident, it took place off the corner of the North Colony Boulevard and Newton Street.
Investigators said that 19-year-old Desiree Perkins was in a vehicle going along Colony Boulevard. Due to factors not confirmed right now, the vehicle lost control and crashed. Desiree Perkins was killed as a result.

My concern with crashes involving teen drivers is that people are going to jump to conclusions based solely off the victim’s age. It is true that teenagers are statistically more likely to make mistakes behind the wheel, but that’s no excuse for making assumptions. That’s especially true when the victim isn’t around to tell their side of the story.
At the end of the day, the evidence needs to have its say. If authorities are prioritizing getting the facts and not letting any sort of bias get in their way, that’s a good sign, and they’ll likely be able to address all of the family’s concerns. However, it’s not unusual for crashes like this to need independent investigators looking things over so nothing important slips through the cracks.
