Rusk County, TX — March 15, 2023, a De Berry man was injured following an accident involving a Dodge truck at 6:40 a.m. along F.M. 782.
Authorities said that the crash took place near the intersection of F.M. 782 and F.M. 1716. Details surrounding the crash at this time say that it involved a 27-year-old De Berry man that was on a Yamaha motorcycle.
The motorcycle was going along southbound F.M. 782 at the time when it slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway. While doing so, a Dodge Ram 3500 apparently failed to slow down, crashing into the De Berry man’s motorcycle. As a result, the De Berry man had injuries said to be incapacitating.
Current information says that the truck driver claimed the vehicle was having some kind of transmission issues at the time, saying they were apparently dealing with these issues prior to looking up too late to avoid the motorcycle. Authorities said they would recommend a citation for failure to control speed. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
