Houston, TX — January 16, 2025, Daylan Odom was killed as the result of a car accident at around 10:55 p.m. along the North Freeway.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened along the 5000 block of the North Freeway/I-45.
Investigators said that 24-year-old Daylan Odom was on foot at the time in the area of the southbound lanes of the freeway. While there, a vehicle struck Odom. As a result, Odom was fatally injured.
The driver reportedly remained at the scene. No charges or citations have been reported. Investigations are ongoing.

People are quick to jump to conclusions when it comes to pedestrian accidents, especially in the area of a major roadway. However, the priority following any serious accident should be to get answers. Pedestrian accidents aren’t exceptions. The victim’s loved ones deserve to know they’re getting the full story, and if authorities were too quick to brush the situation aside, they might overlook crucial details. That’s why I have to wonder if authorities were diligent here in looking into all possible factors surrounding the accident. If not, there could be more to this story.
