San Antonio, TX — May 1, 2024, Davonte Jamar Roberts and one other were injured following a car accident at around 1:45 a.m. along U.S. Highway 90.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened near the intersection of U.S. 90 and Loop 1604.
According to officials, 31-year-old Davonte Jamar Roberts was in a Nissan Armada said to be going eastbound on U.S. 90. For reasons unconfirmed right now, the Nissan and a westbound GMC Sierra ended up colliding head-on. As a result, Roberts had serious injuries while the other driver had reportedly moderate injuries.

Without further evidence, it would obviously be irresponsible to try and draw conclusions about what happened here. That’s one of the more challenging aspects of car accidents to inform people about. They’re not always so straight-forward, and even authorities might not be able to get clear answers.
It often comes down to whether or not authorities put the details in the hands of experienced accident reconstructionists who can ensure that even unlikely possible factors get attention. Unfortunately, they rarely take that step, so important details often slip through the cracks unless there are independent investigators picking up the slack. Whatever ultimately happened here, the same could prove to be true.
