Linn County, IA — June 6, 2023, David Dickson was killed and Aubrey Griner was injured following a semi-truck accident at 8:23 a.m. along County Home Road.
Authorities with the Linn County Sheriff’s Department said they were called to the area of the County Home Road and 10th Street intersection.
Their statements at this time say that 50-year-old David Dickson and 18-year-old Aubrey Griner were in a vehicle that was going northbound through the intersection. While crossing, a westbound semi-truck crashed into their car.
As a result of the collision, Dickson sustained injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. Griner’s injuries were described as serious, and Griner was transported to a hospital. The driver of the truck apparently had minor injuries. No one else was apparently hurt.
At this time, the factors surrounding the crash are still under investigation. Nothing further can be confirmed without continued investigations.
