Cherokee County, TX — March 29, 2025, David Alan Pate was killed due to a hit-and-run accident at around 10:30 p.m. along County Road 4701.
According to initial details about the crash, it took place in the area of the County Road 4701 and F.M. 856 intersection.
Investigators said that 57-year-old David Alan Pate was on a motorcycle when a collision occurred involving a GMC Sierra pickup. Following the collision, the pickup reportedly left the scene.
David Pate sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. There have been no updates from authorities at this time.

One of the most helpful steps after any hit-and-run is getting the public involved. If authorities put as much information into the public as possible, someone may be able to connect the dots and help authorities identify the suspect. Steps can then be taken not only to see there’s accountability for the hit-and-run but also for whatever led the driver to flee in the first place. The victim’s loved ones deserve to see closure, and they deserve to know there’s going to be accountability.
