When it comes to hit-and-run accidents like this, one of the most important things authorities can do is spread the word. Often, someone in the public is able to connect the dots if authorities can describe the vehicle involved or even find security camera or traffic camera footage that shows the vehicle involved. Once that happens, steps can be taken to see that driver is held accountable, and investigators can also find out why that driver fled in the first place. It could be there’s more to this story that needs to be brought to light if authorities are going to get the victim’s loved ones the conclusion they deserve.
