Harris County, TX — February 24, 2024, Darius Albright was killed and another person was injured in a single-car accident shortly after 3:45 a.m. along Hufsmith Kohrville Rd.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Darius Albright was the passenger in a purportedly stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee which was apparently fleeing from police southbound on Hufsmith Kohrville Road in the vicinity south of the Holderrieth Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the Jeep failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off left, crossing over the centerline and the northbound lane of the roadway before leaving the roadway completely. It then crashed into a tree where it burst into flames.

Albright incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. The other occupant of the vehicle—a 22-year-old man—sustained suspected severe injuries due to the wreck and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
