UPDATE (April 14, 2023): Authorities identified the man killed in the accident as 36-year-old Darion “DJ” Rodriguez. Right now, the search for the driver involved in the accident continues. No further information is available at this time.
Current reports also mention that DJ Rodriguez was related to another man killed in Galveston County, identified as George Arness. Both incidents are still under investigation, and I can only hope witnesses continue to come forward to help ensure the families of the victims get proper answers. Such unbelievable tragedy can’t be written off as unfortunate accidents. They need an explanation, and the sooner they get those answers, the better.

It’s unfortunate there isn’t more information about what happened here or who’s responsible. But that doesn’t mean there’s no hope. More often than not, these situations resolve because someone in the public is able to help authorities identify the driver. The same could very well prove true here, too. It will simply take continued vigilance until more information comes to light.
