Accident Report

March 29, 2026, Danny Jacquez and four others were hurt in a car accident just before 2:30 a.m. along Wheeling Avenue.

According to authorities, two people—37-year-old Danny Jacquez and a 40-year-old man—were traveling in a southbound Volkswagen Jetta on Alabama Street at the Wheeling Avenue intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision occurred between the Jetta and an eastbound Cadillac occupied by an 18-year-olr man, and 18-year-old woman, and a 19-year-old man. Reports note that at least one of the vehicles overturned over the course of the accident.

Of the five people who were involved, four suffered serious injuries due to the wreck. The only one to receive minor injuries was the 18-year-old who had been behind the wheel of the Cadillac. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

I’ve been in this line of business for over three decades. In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to analyze hundreds of car accidents. That has given me plenty of opportunity to come to understand that there is no such thing as a simple car accident. Hopefully, investigators are being as thorough and openminded as they should be as they look into things.

To be fair, I’m not trying to insinuate that I know more about this specific accident than anyone else outside of the investigation. It could very well be that driver error; whether the 18-year-old behind the wheel of the Cadillac was distracted, fatigued, impaired, or something else entirely remains to be seen. Let’s hope that the investigators are looking into the less likely causes, as well, such as possible mechanical malfunctions or even issues with the traffic signal.

Beyond that, reports note that at least one of the two vehicles overturned. Most people are unaware of this, but the rollover tests that car manufacturers are required to pass do not actually do a very good job of simulating real-world scenarios. I’d be interested to know whether or not a design flaw played a role in the overturn. These are the kinds of things that can be pinpointed by in-depth vehicle inspections done by trained professionals in a laboratory setting. Hopefully investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get one done.

After all, the people affected by this accident deserve to be given a clear and detailed understanding as to both how and why things ended up the way they did. Surface-level investigation simply can not provide that level of clarity.
