Wilbarger County, TX — June 12, 2023, Danielle Marie Perkins was fatally injured due to a pedestrian accident at around 5:30 a.m. along Business 287.
Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety released information about the incident, which reportedly occurred along Business Highway 287 in the area of Vernon.
According to initial details, 30-year-old Danielle Marie Perkins was walking at the time and was along the center line of the highway. DPS officials say that while Perkins was there, a Honda Accord going along the highway did not avoid Perkins, hitting her in the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Perkins sustained injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. The driver may have been injured, according to authorities, but injuries were not said to be serious. Police did not report the speed of the driver, and they did not release any additional details about potential factors surrounding the accident. It’s unclear if there were any independent witnesses to the collision. Other details are unavailable at this time.
