How Did This Accident Occur?
The key to understanding this crash is figuring out why the pickup left the road. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Was there another vehicle involved? Did the pickup have problem with its brakes?
I can’t claim to know the answers to those questions at this point, which is why I always caution people against making assumptions about crashes like this before the investigation is completed.
Investigators, by police or an independent third party, must gather facts about this accident from evidence at the scene, data from the truck’s engine control module and any available video footage. A forensic investigation of the pickup can determine if it had any mechanical problems at the time of the crash.
