How Did This Accident Occur?

When people hear about rear-end car accidents, most are quick to just dump all the blame on the driver of the striking vehicle. After thirty years in this line of work, though, I’m not so quick to jump to conclusions. Why? Because in that time, I’ve seen plenty of similar cases in which evidence of less likely causes ended up being unearthed by the investigations.

To be completely transparent, I am not insinuating that I know more about this specific accident than anyone outside of the investigation would. I just want to point out that, rather than driver error, the collision could have been a result of an issue with the Frontier. What if, for example, it experienced brake failure? I understand that it isn’t super likely, but neither is it outside of the realm of possibilities. An in-depth vehicle inspection would be able to pinpoint any mechanical malfunctions or product defects that played a role in the wreck.

Understand, though, that these types of inspections—done by trained professionals in a laboratory setting—are not routine, so a special request might have to be made. If the authorities fail to take that step, then a third party investigation can always get one done, instead. That way all the bases are covered. Plus, it never hurts to have a second perspective go over things and make sure that nothing important falls through the cracks. After all, the people affected by this accident deserve real answers backed by solid evidence. Vague assumptions based on surface-level investigation won’t cut it.
