Accident Report
Izard County, AR — March 18, 2026, Dalton Graham was killed and Adam McClung was injured in a tow truck accident at about 4:10 p.m. on State Highway 58.
Authorities said a 2008 Kenworth tow truck was heading west while towing a semi-truck with a gasoline tanker when it went off both sides of the road and overturned. The driver said the truck’s brakes began to fail as it started going down a hill near Guion.
A passenger in the tow truck, 31-year-old Brookland resident Dalton Ray Graham, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities. He had been the driver of the disabled truck.
Tow truck driver Adam Lee McClung, 34, of Paragould was flown to a Little Rock hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Izard County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities should do more than note the tow truck driver’s assertion that failing brakes contributed to this crash, but in my experience most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or expertise for such technical examinations. Their job typically is to document the scene and clear the wreckage to traffic flow can resume. A review like this needs to be undertaken by qualified expert in a laboratory setting, not at the side of the highway.
I’m not trying to make this investigation unnecessarily complicated, but that is often the nature of commercial vehicle accidents. It’s nearly impossible to figure out how they happened based solely on evidence from the scene. Those affected by this crash deserve accountability, which starts with a strong evidentiary record that points toward the truck of how this accident happened.
