Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, authorities don’t always conduct as thorough an investigation as folks might think. They’re not often seen as a high priority, so things can easily slip through the cracks unless there are more thorough independent investigations. Vehicle defects, road design flaws, drivers over-served by a bar, medical conditions, tire failure—these aren’t things a typical surface-level investigation will be able to address properly. That’s why it’s important that folks consider the kinds of details they’re getting from authorities and whether or not they feel there’s more to the story than what they’re being told.
